    In this role you will maintain excellent product knowledge ensuring outstanding customer service is delivered in order to achieve sales and profit. You will assist in all aspects of the store including, deliveries, the replenishment of stock and ensuring a pass is gained and maintained in the Berghaus Certification scheme.

    Materials Manager

    We are looking to recruit a talented individual to join our Product team based in Sunderland. Your brief will be to lead the Materials Research and Development team to drive innovation and bring uniqueness to applications of technology, textile materials and componentry. You will identify fabrics and materials that retain the performance standards within the brand whilst supporting the KPIs.

    You will work collaboratively with our Berghaus Asia team to support the seasonal execution of materials sourcing, developing, testing and commercialisation. You will manage the understanding and communication to the business of our materials uniqueness and added value to our brand proposition.

    In order to succeed the successful candidate will have:

     

    • Degree level qualification in textiles or equivalent industrial experience
    • People management experience
    • An interest and an understanding of the outdoor environment
    • Extensive knowledge and proven experience working in technical textile development, testing and manufacturing environment
    • Proven ability to work closely and partner effectively with Designers and production partners
    • An understanding of fabric costs and the ability to alter through specification changes
    • A demonstrated ability to think strategically
    • The ability to influence, negotiate at all levels

    12 Months Fix Term Contract

    We are looking to recruit a talented, self-motivated Lab Technologist to join our materials development team based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. Your brief will be to provide an accurate testing service and maintain a data resource for material, trim and applications specifications that can be used across the Berghaus product teams. You will also manage the colour process including lab dip requests and approvals, assessment of fabric submissions against approved standards and management of the process of preparing and issuing seasonal visual standards.

    In order to succeed in this role the candidate must have:

    • Carrying out British and International standard textiles tests and other relevant testing in order to provide an accurate indication of the materials performance
    • Investigating, developing and verifying new test methods
    • Maintaining a comprehensive testing database with all test results achieved to enable comparisons between fabric, trims and applications
    • Liaising with external testing organisations to obtain independent testing data
    • Working with Berghaus Asia to ensure compliance of bulk production fabrics and components to Berghaus performance and colour standards
    • Manage the master colour library, ensuring all master references are accurate
    • The ability to work accurately, methodically and unsupervised
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent admin and organisational skills
    • Knowledge of textiles and testing
    • A degree or working towards, a textile related subject or the equivalent
    • Proven experience of laboratory work would be advantageous

    We are looking to appoint an exceptional individual to work in our Product team based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. Reporting to the Head of Category Strategy & Planning will be responsible for delivering an Extrem, Mountain and VapourLight clothing product line that maximises growth opportunities within our focus global markets and helps to develop brand equity.

    The key priorities for this role are:

    • Developing the 3 year product strategy across Extrem, Mountain and VapourLight Clothing
    • Researching market structures, retail dynamics and consumer trends that influence line direction
    • Analysing sources of data to create business cases and justifications
    • Building seasonal line plans to meet commercial targets and expectations, sales targets, margin targets, new style and SCO targets
    • Creating launch material to communicate range vision and features, advantages and benefits of individual products
    • Maintaining communications with global markets post-launch to communicate any product relevant changes in a clear and concise manner

       

      • The successful candidate will have:
        • Previous experience within a product management role or senior role within a performance outdoor/sports brand
        • Evidence of successful business management – e.g. commercial growth, SCO performance, delivery to critical path
        • Experience and knowledge of product management within Outdoor industry
        • Expert merchandising skills and a thorough understanding of the product process

         

        The successful candidate needs to be:
        • Driven and passionate in planning and delivering great product, which understands and meets the needs of the consumer, within category commercial guidelines
        • A good listener and communicator who understands cultural differences and requirements
        • Quick to identify patterns and trends within customer, consumer and competitor behaviour
        • Commercially aware, with the ability to grow sales and gross margin performance through the use of innovation, range planning and a clear understanding of the cost drivers of product

At this exciting time, we are looking to recruit a talented individual to join our Marketing team based Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. Reporting to the Global Head of Marketing your brief will be to you will be responsible for pro-actively developing the trade and consumer marketing tools to drive sales of the Trail category, in line with the OGSM.

    The successful candidate will also take responsibility for:

    • Managing and strategically developing both the people and resource, ensuring the future strategic needs of the business are met
    • Producing strategic seasonal materials such as catalogue, POS and digital content to grow long term brand equity
    • Understanding the product lines, materials, features and benefits, and price architecture, as an ambassador for the category
    • Working on the seasonal plan to develop and create briefs for agencies
    • Creating the brief and managing the process of seasonal and athlete driven photos
    • Researching and understanding the market place for all relevant product types
    • Proactively contributing to the product development process using illustrations from competitor brands and insight into consumer trends
    • Championing the consumer, having an in depth understanding of their shopping behaviour

    • Coordinating Marketing Executive to ensure packaging is relevant (and cost effective) to the channels of distribution

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Degree in Marketing or equivalent experience
    • Proven previous experience in a marketing role

    • Strong PC skills; Microsoft office, Powerpoint, Acrobat
